This is a Certificate Level program.
The program duration is 2 years, and consists of 1 year of institutional training and 1 year of industrial training. The academic year starts in August and completes in July.
Who should join the course
This course is for individuals who wish to join vocational trades.
The student should have passed 10th/+2/PUC/12th Std./Vocational course. The maximum age is 23 years.
English, Applied Science, Mathematics, Engineering Drawing, Production Technology, Material Technology, Industrial Education, Quality Control & Metrology, Workshop Calculation, Heat Treatment and Surface Treatment)
Bench Work, Machine Work including Conventional and Special Tool Room Machines like Jig Boring, Jig Grinding, EDM, etc. Training in Inspection, Maintenance. CNC Machine Operation.
Students undertake projects which are related to the program.
The precision machinist program will prepare the student to operate and set up machine tools for the machining industry. The student will learn general machining skills based on skills and knowledge identified by industry. The student will learn production planning, quality control and how to use precision measuring instruments. The student will also be instructed on how to interpret drawings. Under this program Computer-Aided Machining and programming techniques are emphasized.
This program offers great career opportunities. Students can pursue a career of a technician in a machine shop, and they can earn a salary ranging from Rs. 8,000/- to Rs. 10,000/-.
This program provides an exposure to all conventional machines, benchwork skills and introduction to CNC.
Loan scholarship is available for students hailing from the economically weaker sections of society. The nationalised banks also provide support, through the disbursement of educational loans.
Students can go for advanced CNC training after this program, for further learning. Students are also eligible to apply for an NTTF Diploma program, with concession on the fees, should they wish to proceed for higher studies.
Students attending this program can seek employment in industries (Manufacturing Industries) employing Tool Rooms, Machine Shops, etc.
In this program, students are trained on equipment and machines such as Lathe, Milling, Grinding, EDM and CNC machine.
We have an experienced faculty, who are experts in Tool & Die making, and who boast of with Tool & Die making industrial background. NTTF has rigorously trained graduate engineers/ diploma holders and some of them have become a part of NTTF's faculty.
Students have to take up projects during their course tenure .The project undertaken under this program is related to how 'Machining components support tooling.'
Some examples of projects which previous batches have undertaken are on elements of tools; such as pillar, bush, plate, etc.
Students have to go for an industrial internship for a duration of one year, as part of this program.
