Scope :

The programme provides Engineering Graduates an opportunity to acquire advanced skills and knowledge relating to Tool Design and Manufacturing with extensive exposure to CAD / CAM / CAE and GD&T to meet the growing demands of the industries. Tool Design and manufacture is an integral part of any manufacturing activity. Well trained and qualified tool engineers occupy important positions of responsibility with good scope for career enhancement in manufacturing industries.

Workshop - I, Engineering Graphics and GD&T, 3D CAD, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Processes, Jigs & Fixtures and Cutting Tools, Molds - I, Press Tools - I

Semester - II

Workshop - II and Core Cavity Extraction, Elasticity, Plasticity and Finite Element Analysis,Design for Manufacture & Assembly, Inspection & Gauging, Molds - II, Press Tools - II

Semester - III

Industrial Case Study, Seminar - I, CAE and Rapid Prototyping, Die Casting Dies, Tool Manufacturing and CAM, Advanced Molds & Moldflow, Advanced Press Tools & Formability Analysis

Semester - IV

Seminar - II, Project

Award of Degree :

Certificate awarded by NTTF.

Recognition :

Recognized by Anna University as equivalent to M. E. Programme in the Faculty of Engineering. Recognized by Bangalore University as equivalent to their M. E. Degree.

Eligibility :

B. E. / B. Tech. in Mechanical / Production / Industrial & Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering & Management / Automobile / Aeronautical Engineering / AMIE / IIIE or equivalent. Students awaiting final semester results can also apply. Lady candidates will be given preference. Age no bar.
