The program duration is 2 years (4 semesters), and the academic year starts in September and ends in August.
Rs. 80,000 per semester for Regular Category candidates, Rs.1,20,000 per semester for Industry Nominated Category candidates, US$ 2500 per semester for Foreign National & NRI Category candidates,

This program is for individuals who would like to make a career in Tool Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, CAD-CAM-CAE. From learning to design press tools for complex sheet metal components to eliminating defects and fine-tune the process of quality production, we provide our students a holistic learning experience during this program. 

Postgraduate Admission Details
  • Students who completed B. E/ B. Tech in Mechanical/ Production/ Industrial & Production Engineering/ Industrial Engineering & Management/ Automobile/ Mechatronics/ Aeronautical Engineering/ Polymer Engineering/ IIIE or equivalent are eligible for this course
  • No age limit to apply
  • The candidate should have a good proficiency in 2D/ 3D software preferably – Creo Parametric

The two-year programme offered at Bangalore (Peenya campus) provides Engineering Graduates an opportunity to acquire advanced skills and knowledge relating to Tool Engineering and Manufacturing with extensive exposure to CAD / CAM / CAE to meet the growing demands of the industries.

After completing this program, students are expected to:

  • Have thorough knowledge of materials - metals and plastics
  • Have thorough knowledge of GD&T concepts and applications
  • Design press tools for complex sheet metal components
  • Design moulds for plastic components
  • Design dies for pressure die cast components
  • Design jigs & fixtures, gauges
  • Plan, manufacture and estimate costs of tools, dies and moulds
  • Use analytical techniques in the design and analysis of tools, moulds and dies
  • Try out tools to eliminate defects and tune the process conditions to achieve quality production
  • Be familiar with shop floor practice to make simple tools

  • Project work during the fourth semester at an industrial establishment where students are likely to continue as an employee, after completing the program
